End-to-End Private Label for Himalayan Shilajit — Nepal to the UK
Overview
A UK-based wellness company approached Sourcing Nepal to manage the complete private-label lifecycle for a premium Himalayan Shilajit product. The scope covered everything from raw material sourcing and third-party lab testing to glass jar procurement, label design, filling and sealing, quality inspection, and two separate export consignments.
From raw resin authentication and independent lab testing to custom Lokta paper packaging and customs-cleared export — a full-service private label journey built on precision and trust.

The Eight-Stage Process
Authenticating & Securing the Raw Resin
We identified and qualified a supplier of high-grade, authentic Himalayan Shilajit resin. Once sourced, the resin was immediately sealed under controlled conditions to prevent adulteration or substitution — ensuring full chain-of-custody integrity before it reached a lab or filling line.
Independent Third-Party Lab Testing
The sealed batch was sent to Eurofins Food Testing, India — a globally accredited ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory — for rigorous heavy metals analysis. We tested across multiple labs iteratively until results were fully accurate and met the client’s specifications. All four parameters passed comfortably within limits.
Glass Jar Procurement: Overcoming a Supply Gap
The client required a specific jar size and colour that was out of stock across all domestic Nepal vendors. Sourcing Nepal extended its supply chain internationally to procure the correct jars. However, the initial shipment arrived poorly packaged, resulting in significant breakage on arrival.
Local Cap Sourcing: Finding the Right Fit
Despite the import setback, our local vendor network came through. We sourced the exact jar size and lid colour the client had specified from within Nepal — eliminating further import risk and keeping the project on schedule. A vendor-by-vendor comparison ensured both colour and dimension accuracy.

Label & Sticker Design, Print, and Application
Working with the client’s branding direction, we coordinated the full design, print, and precise application of product labels and stickers on each jar. Labels include complete supplement facts, multilingual directions for use across seven European languages, FSC certification mark, and full UK-market compliance text.
Filling, Sealing & Pre-Shipment Inspection
The resin was filled into the labelled jars, sealed, and packed with individual bubble-wrap protection. A thorough pre-shipment quality inspection was conducted covering all 1,000 jars across 5 cartons — a 100% complete check. During inspection, 18 caps were found to have minor cosmetic scratches and were replaced immediately. Spoons, labels, and stickers were all confirmed defect-free before sealing.
Customs-Cleared Export: 1,000 Jars, Zero Losses
The consignment was exported to the UK with no customs complications. Every single jar arrived at the client’s destination intact — zero product loss in transit, validating the bubble-wrap and carton packing methodology used throughout.
Custom Lokta Paper Packaging: A Second Export
Following the jar shipment, the client requested a full bespoke packaging suite in traditional Nepali Lokta paper — custom Shilajit boxes and branded Lokta paper bags, both designed around the client’s brand theme. Lokta paper is a premium handmade Himalayan paper, naturally durable and eco-friendly, making it a perfect fit for a high-end wellness product destined for the UK market.
Sourcing Nepal managed the design, production, and quality inspection of 1,000 boxes across 16 cartons. Print quality, finish, structural integrity, and magnetic closures were all verified. A minor closure alignment issue found during inspection was corrected before dispatch. Both the boxes and branded bags arrived at the client’s UK destination without a single item damaged.
