turmeric
A Staple of Every Nepali Kitchen
In Nepal, turmeric (besar) colours almost every daal, tarkari and achar, and it is part of festivals and rituals too. Farmers in the mid-hills and Terai grow it as a rain-fed root crop, often between maize and other crops, with very little external input.
Abroad, turmeric has become a hero ingredient in golden lattes, supplements and clean-label foods, especially in the USA and Europe. We connect that demand with Nepali growers, with full QC and documentation.
- Sourced responsibly and directly from Nepali farms and collectors
- Naturally grown, with no added colour, fillers or anti-caking agents
- Curcumin, moisture and purity tested before shipment
- White-label packing for your brand

60–100 meshKnow Your Curcumin Before You Buy
Curcumin is the natural compound that gives turmeric its colour, and it is the number most buyers ask for. We test it on every lot, so you price and label on facts, not guesses.
Tested, Not Assumed
Curcumin in turmeric naturally varies with variety, soil, altitude, harvest time and curing. Typical dried turmeric contains about 2–5% curcuminoids. We report the actual value of each lot on the COA, measured by HPLC or spectrophotometry at an accredited lab.
How Our Turmeric Is Processed
Traditional curing gives turmeric its even colour and long shelf life. Modern QC makes sure it is clean and safe.
Mature Harvest
Rhizomes are lifted when the leaves dry, about 8–10 months after planting, for full colour and curcumin.
Wash & Separate
Soil and roots are removed, and fingers are separated from the mother bulbs.
Curing (Boiling)
Rhizomes are boiled until soft. This evens out the colour, removes the raw smell and speeds up drying.
Sun / Solar Drying
Cured turmeric is dried on clean, raised surfaces until hard and low in moisture.
Polishing & Grading
Rough skin is polished off, and fingers and bulbs are graded by size and colour.
Milling & Sieving
Whole turmeric is ground and sieved to your mesh, with no colours or fillers added.
Lab Testing
Curcumin, moisture, lead and chromium, dyes, mycotoxins, pesticides and microbiology are checked before release.
Packing & Export
Food-grade lined bags with metal detection and batch coding, plus full export documents.
Pure Turmeric, Nothing Added
Turmeric is one of the spices most often targeted for adulteration worldwide. Our testing is designed to catch exactly those risks.
Why we screen for lead chromate and synthetic dyes
Lead chromate, a toxic industrial pigment, and dyes such as Metanil Yellow and Sudan dyes have been found in turmeric in some markets, added to make dull roots look brighter. Natural turmeric is a warm golden-orange, not neon yellow. Every lot we ship is screened for lead, chromium and synthetic colours.
Lead & Chromium
Heavy-metal testing to catch lead chromate and meet destination limits.
Synthetic Dyes
Screening for Metanil Yellow, Sudan I–IV and other non-permitted colours.
Mycotoxins
Aflatoxins and ochratoxin A checked against EU and other limits.
Pesticide Residues
Multi-residue screening against your market's MRLs.
Microbiology
Salmonella, E. coli, total plate count, yeast and mould.
Ethylene Oxide
EtO and 2-chloroethanol testing for EU-bound shipments.
Curcumin Assay
Actual curcuminoid percentage, measured by HPLC or spectrophotometry.
Moisture & Ash
Moisture, total ash and acid-insoluble ash, which shows whether sand or soil is present.
Testing is arranged through accredited laboratories. See our product testing service.
One Root, Many Industries
Spices & Seasonings
Curry powders, masalas, rubs and single-spice retail packs.
Supplements & Extracts
Capsules and raw material for curcumin extraction.
Golden Latte & Tea
Golden milk mixes, turmeric teas and wellness shots.
Natural Food Colour
A clean-label yellow for dairy, bakery, noodles and sauces.
Cosmetics
Face masks, soaps and natural skincare formulations.
Retail & E-commerce
White-label pouches and tins for health and grocery stores.
Sell It With Compliant Claims
Turmeric is popular for wellness, but health claims are strictly regulated in the USA, EU, UK and elsewhere. We help white-label clients keep their wording factual.
✓ Generally safer wording
- "100% pure ground turmeric (Curcuma longa)"
- "Grown in Nepal" / "Product of Nepal"
- "Contains X% curcumin" (backed by your lab result)
- "No added colours or fillers"
✗ Wording to avoid without authorisation
- "Boosts immunity" or "fights inflammation"
- Claims to treat joint pain, arthritis or any disease
- "Organic" without a valid organic certificate
- COVID or other illness-related claims
This is general guidance, not legal advice. Check final label text with a regulatory adviser in your market.

What forms of turmeric do you supply from Nepal?
We supply fresh turmeric rhizomes, dried whole fingers (unpolished or polished), dried slices, tea-cut granules and turmeric powder in 60–100 mesh. Products can be packed in bulk or as white-label retail packs.
What is the curcumin content of your turmeric?
Curcumin naturally varies with variety, growing area and curing. Dried turmeric typically contains about 2–5% curcuminoids. We test every lot by HPLC or spectrophotometry and report the actual figure on the Certificate of Analysis. Higher-curcumin lots can be selected on request.
Where is your turmeric grown?
Our turmeric comes from smallholder farms in Nepal's mid-hills and Terai, where it is grown as a rain-fed root crop with minimal external inputs.
Is your turmeric organic?
Our turmeric is naturally grown, with no added colours, fillers or synthetic additives. Certified organic lots can be supplied where the farm or group holds a valid organic certificate, and we provide that certificate with the shipment.
How do you make sure the turmeric is not adulterated?
Every lot is tested for lead and chromium (to detect lead chromate), for synthetic dyes such as Metanil Yellow and Sudan I–IV, and for acid-insoluble ash, which shows whether sand or soil is present. We also test for mycotoxins, pesticide residues and microbiology through accredited laboratories.
Do you offer white label turmeric?
Yes. We customise packaging and branding, including pouches, jars and tins, label design, lab-backed curcumin percentages on pack, batch coding and shipping. We can also make turmeric blends such as golden latte mixes.
What packaging, MOQ and shelf life can I expect?
Bulk turmeric powder ships in 25 kg lined bags, and whole turmeric in 25–50 kg bags. MOQs are flexible and samples are available. Powder has a typical 24-month shelf life in sealed packs, stored cool, dry and away from light.
Which export documents do you provide?
We provide a Certificate of Analysis, product specification sheet, phytosanitary certificate, Certificate of Origin, commercial invoice and packing list. Other documents can be arranged when your market requires them.
